The association organises a number of cultural functions throughout the year. The major annual function is the Independence Day Celebrations which take place on a Saturday in the 3rd week in August. Last year it was held on 17th August at Panthers Newcastle.
Over 700 people attended the programme. The notable dignitaries included Mr Arun Goel, the Consul-General from Sydney, Mayor Peter Blackmore of Maitland and Mayor Bruce Mackenzie of Port Stephens. The programme included a variety of dances performed by local talents and choreographers.
